Tribal Tales

Butser Farm visit

As part of our Tribal Tales topic, Year 3 visted Butser Farm in Wset Sussex. It is a recreation of an ancient farm. Whilst there, we were able to step back into Pre-history, looking into how people lived in the Stone Age, Bronze Age and the Iron Age.

The children tried to recreate old skills such as spinning and bronze jewellery making, as well as digging for archeological treasures. A great was enjoyed by everyone. Thank you to the staff of Butser Farm for making us so welcome.

As part of our Science topic, we have been investigating light and how it behaves. We looked at light sources, how light travels, reflections and how shadows are formed.

Each class worked together to create a class image of Stonehenge, the famous stone circle in Wiltshire. Here are the images we created. We hope you like them.

If you look carefully, you can see the shadows cast by our greatest light source; the Sun.
