Year 2 have been learning all about The Great Fire of London.
The children were asked to design and build a model Tudor house to represent the type of houses that were around during the 1600's. The houses were made of wood, and were built very close together. This is one of the reasons why the fire spread so quickly.
Our Finished Houses
The Great Fire of London demonstration
On Wednesday 16th March the fire brigade came to visit. We arranged our houses in a long line and then the fire man set fire to them! We sang 'London's Burning' as we watched our houses blazing. It was so exciting!
