Jays and Woodpeckers visit the British Museum to learn about Benin.
On 22nd January Jays and Woodpeckers visited the British Museum to enhance their African Adventure topic by seeing the Benin Bronzes and listening to a lively and exciting talk about the Benin Empire. The children sketched some of the Bronzes and ivory carvings. Whilst there, they also looked at the other African exhibits and learned about the huge diversity of the continent of Africa. A favourite exhibit was the Tree of Life, as well as the many fascinating artefacts from Ancient Egypt.
